Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Place dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden and the cookies are soft in the center.
Remove cookies from the oven and gently press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
Immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes over the cookies.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
