Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Chopped parsley or extra Parmesan for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss the pasta in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time to reach your desired sauce consistency.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or additional Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
