Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk or water or a mix
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup cranberries fresh, frozen, or dried
  • ¼ cup walnuts roughly chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional Toppings
  • Extra cranberries or walnuts
  • Orange zest for brightness

Instructions

  • Step-by-Step Instructions
  • Cook the oats – In a medium saucepan, bring milk or water to a simmer. Stir in oats, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  • Simmer gently – Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and creamy (about 5 minutes).
  • Add cranberries – Stir in cranberries during the last 2–3 minutes of cooking. If using dried cranberries, add them earlier so they plump up.
  • Sweeten & finish – Remove from heat, stir in honey or maple syrup, and adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Serve – Spoon into bowls, sprinkle with walnuts, and add extra toppings as desired. Enjoy warm.
