Creamy Chicken Casserole

4 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced 1 can 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom soup) 1 cup sour cream 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or your preferred cheese 1 cup frozen peas or any other vegetable you prefer 1 cup cooked rice white, brown, or quinoa 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste 1/2 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs for topping 1 tablespoon melted butter for the topping
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix base: In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Add chicken & rice: Stir in cooked chicken, cooked rice, and frozen peas until well combined.
Transfer to baking dish: Pour mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole.
Prepare topping: Combine crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle on top of the casserole.
Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
Serve: Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
