Instructions
Prepare the Chicken: Pat chicken dry with paper towels. If desired, coat with flour, shaking off any excess.
Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken skin-side down for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic and grated ginger (if using) over medium heat for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, and water. Stir well to combine.
Combine and Simmer: Return the seared chicken to the skillet. Spoon sauce over the chicken and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until chicken is fully cooked (165°F/74°C).
Thicken the Sauce (Optional): If desired, mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Stir it into the skillet during the last 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
Garnish and Serve: Transfer chicken to a serving dish. Drizzle sauce over the top and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
