Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken
My slow cooker brown sugar garlic chicken is a recipe I’ve returned to time and time again, not just because of its irresistible taste but because of how simple it is to prepare.
4 boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts) 4 cloves garlic minced ½ cup brown sugar packed ¼ cup soy sauce 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon dried thyme ½ teaspoon black pepper 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons water Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Season chicken with black pepper and dried thyme.
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar.
Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over the top.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken and set aside. Mix cornstarch with water and stir it into the sauce in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
Return chicken to the slow cooker, spoon the thickened sauce over, and garnish with parsley or green onions. Serve warm.
