Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring it's evenly coated.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  • Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and set it aside.
  • To thicken the sauce, whisk cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then stir it into the sauce.
  • Turn the slow cooker to high and cook for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  • Shred the chicken and return it to the slow cooker, stirring it into the sauce.
  • Serve the shredded chicken with rice, mashed potatoes, or your preferred side dish.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and enjoy!
